This is a 3lb bag of "raw" alpaca fiber 2nds.
It has a variety of textures and colors and you can still see the lock structure.
The first thing I do is spread it out on a plastic table cloth and pick/shake out any stuff that isn't alpaca. Depending on how the animal was cared for I find bits of hay, straw, sawdust, weeds, dung and gravel. I remove any parts of the fleece with little bits of vegetable matter stuck in it because I don't want it to migrate into the rest of the fleece. Then I stuff the fiber into a mesh laundry bag.
